Because holding it together when your childs life is in question can feel impossible.The role:The primary purpose of the Family Wellbeing Coordinator is to provide support to families (Australian residents and those referred from New Caledonia) whose children are treated at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead. This includes registering families for Redkite services, promoting Redkites programs, and facilitating peer support and activities. This role will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead, including the management of volunteers.About you:The position is ideal for someone who has had some experience providing support services. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:A minimum of 2 years experience providing support services to children, young people and familiesExcellent verbal communication skills, fluency in both English and FrenchMinimum Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalentRelevant experience in a community and/or healthcare settingExperience delivering family and peer support programsAbility to engage with and provide support to children, young people and familiesAbility to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders in relation to optimising service delivery outcomesCase-noting and record-keeping skillsAbility to use Microsoft Office applicationsPrevious employment in oncology or other health related support areas (including community agencies)Knowledge of strength-based models of practiceExperience in developing family support programsFamiliarity with Salesforce databaseFor 40 years we have had a single purpose: to be a lifeline for families facing their childs cancer.
