Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.About the role:Maurice Blackburn has a long history of practising in Abuse Law, advocating on behalf of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This is a unique opportunity to establish credentials and expertise in this developing area of law.Due to the nature of the practice, there will at times be exposure to challenging material. All staff are supported through access to external psychological support as well as market-leading internal vicarious trauma training.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, drafting notices of claim and other legal/court documents, preparing client correspondence, liaising with counsel, liaising with clients (both internal and external), conducting research, and obtaining statements, all under the supervision of a Lawyer.Key Selection Criteria:In this role, you will be constantly challenged and will expand your skill set. You will have:Experience in legal support roles such as a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or ParalegalExcellent organisational skills and the ability to multitaskStrong communication skills for liaising internally and externallyProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteEnthusiasm and the ability to learn and grow in this area of lawWork with people who are truly passionate about the work we do and the impact we have on the community.
