We are looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker to work within the First Contact Adult Social Care and All Age Carers Team. This key role will take responsibility for working across Older People, Physical and Learning Disabilities, Hospital Discharge referrals via Home First, and all-age Carers assessments. We are seeking experienced Advanced Practitioners with a broad range of knowledge and skills across this agenda. Main Responsibilities Supervise and support the professional development of social workers and social care assessors. Manage unpredictable daily changes to work patterns. Organise daily duties proactively, adhering to SCC policies and procedures to meet service demands. Ensure quality assurance of statutory documents and promote the ethos of Just Enough Support. Contribute to developing best practice within the service. Maintain flexibility and promote a healthy work-life balance. Motivate staff to achieve objectives related to adult engagement. Identify and act upon safeguarding issues promptly, in line with policies and legislation. Co-work cases with less experienced or non-social work qualified team members, sharing and developing their learning. Take responsibility for assessments under the Care Act, including statutory functions, participation in inter-agency rota for best interest assessments, and AMHP rota. The Ideal Candidate Demonstrable management experience. Experience working within Adult Social Care. Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act assessments, Best Interest Assessments/DOLs. Understanding of mental health legislation, including section 117. Knowledge of funding streams supporting adults. Experience in team development and professional practice. Flexibility to work across various locations and availability for out-of-hours, evenings, and weekends when required.
