About the team you are joining Reporting to the Area Manager, South West Pacific, the incumbent will support and execute IATAs activities in the region, including delivering IATAs agenda and achieving set objectives. What your day would be like Support the delivery of IATAs agenda in the South West Pacific. Build and maintain professional relationships with member airlines, airports, government officials, and industry stakeholders, in collaboration with the Area Manager. Promote IATAs policies, objectives, and services among airlines, governments, and regional organizations, and coordinate local implementation of global projects. Monitor and report on political, economic, and commercial developments, recommending actions aligned with IATAs policies. Work on airport operations, flight safety, passenger facilitation, environmental sustainability, and compliance with relevant legislation, in partnership with the Area Manager. Support legal, fiscal, and regulatory compliance activities in the region. Assist in commercial and business development, identifying new opportunities and monitoring market trends within the aviation regulatory framework. Coordinate with Communications to monitor media developments and develop national communication strategies supporting IATAs objectives. Organize IATAs events in the region and represent IATA at industry events, facilitating visits by senior managers and subject matter experts. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Area Manager. We would love to hear from you if you have A university degree in Aviation, Business Administration, Political Science, or relevant disciplines; an advanced degree is a plus. At least twenty years of professional experience, including five in a similar role, with proven leadership and project management skills. Knowledge of government and regulatory frameworks in aviation. Strong negotiation, lobbying, and cultural intelligence skills. Understanding of airport operations and environmental initiatives; cargo logistics experience is a plus. Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen; sales and marketing experience is beneficial. Ability to work effectively in small teams. Proficiency with information technology systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English; knowledge of French or regional languages is advantageous. Location: Mascot, Sydney, NSW, Australia. Legal right to work in Australia.
