Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative, and caring.About The RoleThe Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Service is committed to providing quality health services to the mental health community. We aim to deliver mental health nursing services that set standards emulated by other national and international nursing organizations through research and innovation.Nursing services are seeking experienced Enrolled Nurses interested in a career change to Mental Health Nursing, to undertake the 12-month Transition Program into Mental Health Nursing. This program offers a pathway for enrolled nurses to develop expertise in managing patients within Mental Health.The program includes academic coursework and clinical learning, with three 4-month rotations providing practical experience across various mental health specialties. Upon completion, applicants will continue as permanent employees of the Mental Health Service.This Transition Program is for experienced Enrolled Nurses who have not previously worked in a Mental Health setting. Applicants must have at least two years of full-time post-graduate Enrolled Nurse experience. New Graduate Enrolled Nurses are not eligible.The EN works under the guidance of Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council standards, collaborating with RNs, multidisciplinary teams, and others to provide safe, compassionate, person-centered care.
