We currently seek to employ an Accountant Financial Services on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week with the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba.This positions main purpose and primary objective is to provide high-quality finance support to the operation of the Diocese and its entities.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:FINANCIALUsing integrated accounting package Evolution by Sage including processing daily payments, receipts, bank reconciliations and journals as required.Preparation of debtor invoicesPreparation of recurring payment vouchers, journal vouchers and bank transfers (both internal and external).Prepare purchase orders when required.Perform bank reconciliations on all bank accounts monthlyPerform Credit Card reconciliations.Prepare and lodge IAS and BAS returns.Using Diocese treasury function to maintain a daily cash flow record for all Diocesan entities.Responding to or redirecting inquiries of a financial nature from clients, debtors and creditors.Complete end-of-month reports, including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Program income and expenditure statements for individual programs.Completing end-of-month processes, including distributing the client''s bank statements.PAYROLLProcess payroll on a fortnightly basis.Answer payroll queries via phone, email and written correspondence.Prepare and lodge QLeave quarterly reportsRun end of year payrollWe are looking for candidates who have:Tertiary qualifications in business or commerce or a similar discipline would be highly regardedMembership of a professional accounting body will also be well regardedDemonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance processes for data entry of receipts and payments essentialDemonstrated proficiency in finance office administration practicesDemonstrated knowledge of payroll processes and principlesUnderstanding of financial accounting principles and the preparation financial statementsAn understanding of GSTCurrent drivers licenceAppropriate experience (minimum 5 years) in a financial accounting or similar office environmentProven ability to use SharePoint and Microsoft Office softwareExperience in the application and/or use of computerised accounting/funds management systemsActive involvement in various financial accounting processes up to the preparation of financial reportsExperience in payroll operationsDemonstrated ability to work in a team settingEffective written and oral communication skillsBehaviour consistent with Catholic social teachingsA high degree of attention to detail and accuracyPlease submit your application via LinkedIn and includea cover letteryour resumethe details of at least two refereesApplications close Monday 9 June at 5.00pm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
