Add expected salary to your profile for insights.McIlwain is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to contribute to a purpose-driven team at a significant project. You will work closely with a small onsite Safety Team, ensuring compliance with WH&S regulations and fostering a positive safety culture.The Cunningham Highway Restoration project is located within the Scenic Rim region, part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area. Housing is available for those who prefer to stay locally during the week, with works scheduled from Monday to Friday.Duties:Monitor compliance with safety systems and procedures, providing operational support to the project management team.Facilitate and deliver site inductions.Attend all site pre-starts, communicate weekly toolbox talks, and report incident findings or corrective actions.Report, investigate, and implement corrective and preventive actions for hazards, near misses, and work-related illnesses or injuries.Provide ongoing health and safety advice to supervisors, contractors, and workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.Review and approve SWMS, risk assessments, and VOCs.Assist in preparing and developing project and safety reports.Skills & Experience:At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.Thorough knowledge of WHS practices, standards, and codes.Strong understanding of Safety Management Systems.High-level written and communication skills.Qualifications:Cert IV in WH&S (minimum), Bachelor of WH&S highly regarded.Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.Drivers License.General Construction Induction Card (White Card).Additional benefits include career development, paid parental leave, wellness reimbursements, bonus leave days, salary reviews, cultural leave exchange, NAWIC membership, employee referral bonuses, and uplift/retention schemes.McIlwain values diversity and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including LGBTQI+ and people with disabilities.Next steps:Submit your CV online.Only suitable applicants will be contacted.Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment medical and criminal checks.Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.Visit www.mcilwain.com to learn more.
