This appointment is funded by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts through a project in the ''National Road Safety Action Grants Program'' titled "Enhancing Road Safety: Reinvestigating Spatial Reflectance of New Road Pavement for Improved Lighting Uniformity" (CS1331031).Your key responsibilities will be to:work closely with the Lead Chief Investigator (Dr Wenye Hu) and Transport for NSWmanage the project''s day-to-day activities to ensure timely delivery of agreed outcomes.perform sample measurements and computational simulations under the supervision of Lead CIconduct on-site measurements in tunnels on the scheduled tunnel maintenance closuresconduct research, including literature review, data analysis, and report preparationengage with key stakeholders and external consultants across Australia as requiredAbout youa PhD degree (or near completion, expected within 6 months) in Architectural Science, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldknowledge of road lighting and photometric measurementsexperience in road lighting measurements, lighting simulations, and quantitative researchproficiency in data analysis using MATLAB or Python, and in computer simulation software such as AGI32, Radiance, or TraceProproven track record of high-quality publicationsexperience in writing reports for policymakers is preferred.Sponsorship / work rights forAustraliaVisa sponsorship is available for this position.Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
