We recognize the unique contributions you bring to our business, and together we share the pride of building the logistics company for the world.Overall Role Purpose:The Perishables Export Specialist is responsible for:Managing processes, handling, and distributing all required documentation in the shipping areaCoordinating pickup arrangementsEnsuring customer requirements are met and all required documentation is completed in a timely and efficient mannerKey Accountabilities:Creates/confirms transport orders to ensure pickup of the shipment at originPerforms booking and booking optimizationPrepares, controls, and distributes all required export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.)Checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documentsFollows up on shipment status in the export area, identifies incidents, and ensures resolution of incidentsSupports Customer Service in incident and exception management resolutionMaintains excellent relationships with suppliersIdentifies performance issues of suppliers and proposes solutions to improve or correct performancePerforms IT system-related tasks to provide up-to-date information on shipmentsSkills / Qualifications:CargoWise system experience requiredExtensive knowledge of AFR/OFR Export OperationsMinimum one (1) year previous experience in shipping/international freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean freight operational roles (advantageous)Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in generalDangerous Goods Accreditation (highly regarded)Results & outcome drivenAbility to work independentlyFollow origin & destination government requirementsAdaptable to daily changes due to customer & airline requestsHigh reliability and attention to detailTeam player with a positive, can-do attitudeStrong communication and administrative skillsWhy DHL?Besides a competitive hourly rate, we offer a positive and friendly team environment, opportunities for cross-training and career progression, and employee benefits such as discounts on health insurance, flights, car hire, and hotel accommodation.
