We are excited to partner with a leading Australian investment firm for a newly created Investment Analyst position in Melbourne. The role is for a Fixed Income Investment Analyst. The fund invests across all fixed income products including, bonds, loans, ABS and convertibles with a focus on sub-investment grade credit and targets returns in the high single digit to low-double digit range. This is a global product and within liquid developed markets, offering a tremendous breadth of potential opportunities to evaluate. The team have global experience in active high yield and structured credit investing. The role will be based in Melbourne, and you will work closely with the wider investment team, allowing for a rare professional development opportunity for a budding investor. The role scope is broad; you will cover fundamental single name analysis, documentation, due diligence, trade execution, portfolio and investment strategy.Candidate profile:Seeking candidates from 2 6 years professional experience in corporate finance and/or investingCandidates must have high levels of intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, financial modelling and communications skills (written and verbal), as well as a deep interest in investing and financial markets,Investment acumen will be testedCandidates may have backgrounds from the following sources:Big four accounting firms within valuations, debt advisory, restructuring, and/or trading divisionsInvestment banks Leveraged finance, Capital markets, or M&APrivate credit fundsGlobal Markets Fixed IncomeRatings agenciesCandidates may come from other backgrounds in investing including public or private equitiesCultural fit is imperative, candidates who are team oriented, inquisitive and have a strong investment mindset will flourish in this environment.
