Reporting to Accounting Services Manager you''ll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.The Team Manager drives the success of the accounting services team by leading people, optimizing processes, and ensuring key performance indicators are met. They focus on team management, reporting, budgeting, process improvement, and stakeholder communication to align with business objectives.What Youll DoThis role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:Lead the Accounting Services team for the respective division to enable successful delivery of quality services. Owning the performance and output of the team.Establish and promote a high-performance culture, fostering continuous development and capability uplift within the team.Oversee the teams daily operations to ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and ensuring timely financial reporting.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing financial insights and clear communication on accounting matters.Strict adherence to deadlines and compliance requirements across the team.Ensure teams capabilities are appropriate to achieve business goals, identify resource and skill gaps and develop strategies to bridge gaps.What Youll BringBachelor''s degree (or equivalent) required; Accounting/Finance based degree.Mandatory CPA/CA with post graduate studies highly regarded (ie. MBA, Masters in Corporate Finance etc.).Proven experience in people management and leading teams, including transforming teams by enhancing service delivery and strengthening accounting capabilities.Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through influence and leadership.Solid understanding of relevant accounting standards, guidelines, and applicable legislation.Track record of identifying root cause issues, driving process improvements, and optimising efficiencies within legacy systems.More than anything, youll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.Why Downer?At Downer, we plan, create, and sustain essential public services across Australia and New Zealand.
