Build and take ownership of the land programme area of their business and develop your team.SHOREX AUSTRALIA | LAND PROGRAMS MANAGERWho are we?Shorex Australia is a truly local, Australian owned and operated Inbound Tour Operator specialising in shore excursions and land programmes for cruise lines visiting Australia, giving guests the opportunity to discover Australias natural wonders, cultural attractions and iconic destinations.Recognising the importance of sustainable tourism, we cultivate strong partnerships with local communities, businesses, and authorities, allowing us to create land programmes that not only delight guests but also positively impact the destinations they visit.The opportunityWe are seeking a Land Programs Manager to manage our pre-cruise and post-cruise extensions. Reporting to the General Manager and with the support of a Land Programs Coordinator, this hands-on role will take ownership of the land programmes sector of our business, developing and delivering exceptional experiences for guests.Key responsibilities of the role:LEADERSHIP - Effectively lead, manage and develop one Land Programme Coordinator. Book and coordinate Tour Leaders and casual staff to ensure they are prepared for the delivery of their assigned programsPRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Source and develop new product and prepare new product proposals for clientsPRODUCT IMPLEMENTATION - Coordinate with the client and their onboard team to deliver the contracted programGROUND OPERATIONS - Attend cruise ship calls, embarkation/disembarkation and hotels to oversee the operations function, including managing tour leaders, coaches and suppliers to ensure the program is delivered to a high standardADMINISTRATION - Manage presales and waitlists from cruise line partners.Update port partners on salesCONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS - Ensure all services are booked and delivered to our clients to meet contractual obligationsRELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT - Create and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and key partnersQualifications, skills & experienceYou will be a highly motivated team player, preferably with a tertiary qualification in tourism and a minimum 2 years relevant experience. Your innovative approach to developing land product and delivering ground operations plus relevant travel industry experience will see you thrive in this dynamic role.You will have:Sound knowledge of Australian ports & citiesExperience providing logistical or operational service within cruise or tourismHigh level of attention to detailStrong administrative skills and the ability to learn new systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven ability to work under pressureAvailability to work flexible hours during high season weekend work will be required and some travel within Australia will be requiredWhat we offerThis is a unique opportunity to join a growing Australian company operating in one of the worlds fastest growing tourism sectors and be rewarded with a great team culture, competitive remuneration, annual bonus and the flexibility of a hybrid role.Need to knowYou will need to have relevant tourism experience to be considered.This role would suit candidates with travel industry Ground Ops, Product, Groups and Events experience.You will be based in a WeWork office in Sydney CBD with the flexibility to work remotely 2 or 3 days a week.We are a small company with an All-hands-on-deck approach.This is a developing area of the business giving you the opportunity to take ownership of it and deliver growth. You will also develop processes and procedures.Flexibility is required, particularly over the peak summer season where you may be required to be onsite at hotels or in ports and this may occasionally occur over weekends. You may also be required to travel to interstate ports or to experience new products across Australia.
