Precruitment is proud to be partnering with a longstanding Local Government client that represents 15 unique island communities in the Torres Strait, Far North Queensland, to recruit their next Manager Fuel and Fleet. Position Overview Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, you will be responsible for the strategic and sustainable management of the Councils fleet services and fuel supply to the community and internal stakeholders. You will build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide proactive leadership to the Fuel and Fleet team. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Management Team to represent the Council both internally and externally. About You Experience in a similar role within a commercial environment or Local Government. Proven experience in developing and implementing fleet management procedures, including database maintenance, workload planning, and asset utilization. Knowledge of fuel distribution, usage, and cost monitoring, including community subsidies. Understanding of Local Government legislation, standards, systems, and processes. Ability to deliver projects within budget and ensure value for money. Experience managing departmental procurement for quality and cost-efficiency. Leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively. Strong focus on WHS (Workplace Health and Safety). Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills. Current ''C'' class drivers license.
