Key responsibilities include promoting and selling event spaces, food and beverage services, guest rooms, and other hotel amenities. The role involves securing and servicing event sales from social, wedding, and corporate markets through active promotion, solicitation, and prospecting to ensure the hotel exceeds its financial targets. Additionally, the manager plans meetings, events, and weddings while coordinating with Hotel Operations, Food and Beverage management, Room Division Operations, Finance, and external suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesProactively explore and embrace new business opportunities while responding to inquiries with warmth and efficiency. Our goal is to ensure that all concerns are addressed to our clients'' complete satisfaction.Conduct engaging hotel tours and create memorable experiences for meeting planners, social event coordinators, and couples planning their weddings.Collaborate with clients to finalize the requirements for confirmed bookings, all while maximizing revenue potential through strategic upselling.Maintain clear and effective communication through documentation, including resumes, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and daily reports. Confirm the accuracy of banquet checks and conduct thorough bill reviews after each event.Send comprehensive correspondence to clients regarding their banquet events, including tailored proposals, confirmations, contracts, and amendments, ensuring clarity and professionalism at every stage.Possess a solid understanding of audio-visual equipment, internet connectivity, and hybrid technology options to better serve our clients'' needs.Conduct detailed competitor research and maintain an exceptional level of product knowledge about our hotel to provide the best service possible.Ensure all contracts are signed, payment policies are meticulously followed, and that all services are clearly communicated to our Banquet Operations team, guaranteeing a seamless experience that delights our clients.Adhere to all Capella Events Standards when handling inquiries via phone and email, preparing proposals and contracts, conducting hotel tours, planning events, creating confirmations, executing events, and performing thoughtful follow-up.Maintain meticulous records of all sales agreements, contracts, and quotes, upholding Capella''s Policies and Procedures with pride.Take the lead in planning and executing outstanding MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events with direct client engagement, ensuring an unforgettable experience.Gather and relay client event requirements to the Guidance Team and operational department heads through a detailed group resume, fostering collaboration.Identify opportunities for upselling during confirmed events to enhance revenue for both room bookings and catering services.Attend and actively participate in daily briefings, event confirmation meetings, MICE communication meetings, and other essential discussions that support our collective success.Supervise department associates, ensuring adherence to correct standards and service methods as outlined in the Training Certification Manual, thereby promoting consistency and excellence.QualificationsHospitality or Sales/Marketing tertiary qualifications are preferred.3-5 years of previous catering sales or events environment experience in luxury hotels/resorts or hospitality sector, with a minimum of 3 years in Wedding Sales & Service.Knowledge of Hotel Property and Catering Management Systems (OPERA) and Proficient in Social Tables, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Proven experience in providing administrative support.Working with Capella SydneyBe part of a dynamic and supportive work environment.Work in beautifully crafted spaces and amenities in a heritage building.Access online LinkedIn training courses for personal and career development.Full uniform provided and laundered.Complimentary shift meals.Hotel and Group Discounts.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing confidential counseling and support.Birthday Leave and other benefits.Opportunity to grow and develop within the group and with opportunities across the region. #J-18808-Ljbffr
