Join to apply for the Lead Data Engineer role at ING AustraliaJoin to apply for the Lead Data Engineer role at ING AustraliaDirect message the job poster from ING AustraliaEmpowering Businesses Through Recruitment | Connecting Talent with OpportunityAre you ready for a new opportunity in 2025 at ING, Australia''s most recommended bank?Were on the hunt for a Lead Data engineer who will drive data architecture and development while delivering actionable insights, conducting risk and quality assessments, and overseeing end-to-end business and systems analysis.Reporting to the Chapter Lead, the Lead Data engineer must navigate complex delivery environments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.Youll love this role if you enjoy providing regular ongoing deep dives on challenges and opportunities while bridging the gap between technology and business.Ready to make an impact?What youll doDesign, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, to extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data, ensuring alignment with INGs data architecture and performance standards.Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze source systems, and deliver high-quality, value-added data solutions.Ensure data quality and optimize data delivery, re-design infrastructure for scalability, and ensure performance tuning of Azure-based data solution.Contribute to strategic planning and architecture, staying current with industry trends and recommending advanced technologies and methodologies.Lead and mentor data engineers to build expertise in Azure Ecosystem with best practices.Possess a deep understanding and hands-on experience with Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Blob StorageProvide operational support for BI platforms, including production issue resolution, metadata documentation, and ensuring SLA compliance.What are we looking for?5+ years of experience in Data warehousing or related functions.Extensive experience with Azure DevOps with TerraformsHands-on experience with Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Delta Lake for scalable data storage and processing.Proficiency in Azure Services, including Azure SQL for ODS, Key Vault, and Synapse Dataflows and Pipelines for ETL orchestration.Strong development skills using Azure Functions, preferably with Python or PySpark.Experience working with Java APIs for data integration and service communication.Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools, such as Log Analytics and Log Monitoring, to ensure system reliability and observability.Expertise in Power BI for building interactive dashboards and delivering business insights.Good to have Informatica PowerCenter (ETL) knowledgeWhats in it for you?Drop everything and learn with over 16,000 professional and personal development courses to choose fromDiscounted ING Health InsuranceAn additional Rest Day to support your wellbeingAn IMPACT Day to volunteer on approved sustainability activityAbout UsAt ING, we want to make life simpler and more worthwhile for everyone who banks with us, for the people who work with us, and the community at large, too.When you come to work at ING, youre joining a team where individuality isnt just accepted, its encouraged.
