Youll manage a small team, contribute to financial strategy, and play an active role in a period of transformation and process improvement across the organisation.Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):Oversee month-end and year-end close, payroll, and financial reportingensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely insights for stakeholders.Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and investment management, providing strategic financial guidance to leaders.Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, internal controls, compliance, and audit readinesscontributing to long-term sustainability and transformation.Overseeing contracted payment processes and ensuring proper checks and balances are in place.This role is based in our Mascot office and will work a hybrid model, including two days in the office per week.Who are we looking for?The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to Caritas Australias mission to end poverty and injustice by promoting human dignity for all, as well as a dedication to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching that guide our global efforts. They will have a mix of the following qualifications, skills and experience:CPA/CA qualified with a degree in accounting or finance and 7+ years of financial experience, including 3 years in a managerial role.Proven ability to manage month end, develop budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, with strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and statutory compliance.Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing transformation and change initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance staff and a strong collaborative team player mentality.How to applyWe encourage you to apply even if you dont meet all the listed qualifications.
