As a Site Training/Learning Manager (also known as a Learning Area Manager), you will have the opportunity to lead the Training and Learning & Development space at our site in Ravenhall, Melbourne.This is a permanent role which is an active member of the site leadership team reporting to the Regional Learning Manager, with visibility and potential to support network initiatives. In this role you will drive and support site performance and have a strong ability to influence without authority.To be successful in this role, you will have a customer centric mindset coupled with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be able to use transferable skills picked up from previous operational execution, knowledge of warehousing/manufacturing or training and execute using a strong hands-on approach.Key job responsibilitiesBe a trusted partner with the operations teams, support functions and Learning departments to ensure a high standard of safety, quality, productivity and customer experienceCreate, manage and implement standardised training programs ensuring they are consistently implemented, tracked and recordedTrack and communicate Learning progress at a local and network levelLead a team of Training Coordinators, including their development & performanceOversee Forklift Verification Programme and ensure documentation is compliant and up to dateAnalyse data to suggest improvements for training & operations and drive continuous improvement activitiesThe ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves" including jumping into some of our warehouse roles on a regular basisAll the while, youll keep your eyes on the prize: building up a growing team and cementing Amazons wider Operations as a great place to work. In the process youll show deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by customer-facing, highly interactive teams like these, and support their interests accordingly.Basic QualificationsKey attributes include:Degree in a related discipline (Business, Human Resources etc.)Demonstrated experience in coaching and development of employeesPrior experience working with and delivering training & information to employeesStrong analytical skills and ability to interpret dataAbility to work at pace and with ambiguityEffective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlinesStrong communication skills across all levels of the organisationExperience developing & implementing department goals & strategies based on organisational strategiesPreferred QualificationsExperience leading a team of between 1-8 hourly team members (including day to day activities and ongoing development)Resume that shows steady progression and ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment.Previous Kaizen/Continuous Improvement experience.Cert IV in Training & Assessment would be advantageousSupporting training within a site with a large amount of forklift activityRemember, this is just a guide - if you see something you cant tick off all good, we can help you learn here!We value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build.
