A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.What youll be doingReporting into the Manager, Data Governance (within the Virgin Australia Technology Division), the primary function of this role will be to support the development, implementation, and oversight of data governance frameworks, policies, and processes. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams toimplement key data governance policies and ensure data integrity, quality, security, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Assist in the development, maintenance, and communication of the organizations data governance framework, including policies, standards, processes, and guidelinesSupport the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks and Virgin Australia AI committeeEnsure data governance processes are adhered to across the organizationMonitor and report on the implementation of data governance initiatives and the effectiveness of controlsAssess data risks and work with risk management teams to develop mitigation strategiesAssist in audits related to data governance and information securityWork with Manager to develop and deliver training programs to increase awareness of data governance policies and best practicesAct as a point of contact for data governance-related queries and issues across the organisationDevelop dashboards and reports that provide visibility into data governance initiatives, data quality metrics, and compliance performanceMaintain knowledge of data governance laws, trends and standards, and relevant security and compliance requirements including Privacy Act, GDPR, PCIFoster collaborative relationships with other analysts, business stakeholders, Privacy & Legal, and Information Security to facilitate delivery of key data governance outcomesFoster collaborative relationships with other analysts, business stakeholders, Privacy & Legal, and Information Security to facilitate delivery of key data governance outcomesYoull be great in this role if you haveAn amazing ability to build rapport with stakeholders and influence stakeholdersBachelors degree in data management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent background)3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related fieldKnowledge of or interest in AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and emerging AI governance standardsHands-on experience working with data governance frameworks, policies, and data management toolsExperience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, Information Security, Legal, Privacy, compliance, and business stakeholdersUnderstanding of data governance principles and practicesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment (ideally within a large, corporate business)Were committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry including (but not limited to):Discounted flights for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)A flexible, hybrid work style.
