Key ResponsibilitiesBusinessParticipates in origination and execution of high-quality M&A mandates in the Metals & Mining sector in the APAC region and globally.Builds client rapport and relationships at appropriate levels, and actively participates in client discussions.Demonstrates a solid understanding of the M&A processes and associated legal and regulatory frameworks.Shows increasing interest and understanding of the Metals & Mining sector.ProcessesPrepares presentation materials for clients, both for origination and execution.Performs financial and valuation analyses using various methodologies.Builds detailed financial models.Researches and analyzes companies, markets, and industries based on public filings, research reports, and other sources.Supports due diligence and negotiations during transactions.Participates in all stages of transaction execution, from pitch to closing.Assists with day-to-day project management and has the capability to lead deal management for clients.People & TalentLeads by example, fostering the appropriate culture and values.Collaborates with other SCB product groups, teams, and offices.Assists in managing junior team members and mentors their development.Risk ManagementSupports adherence to internal compliance requirements.Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and resolves audit and compliance issues promptly.GovernanceUnderstands the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and the relevant requirements.Regulatory & Business ConductDisplays exemplary conduct, living by the Groups Values and Code of Conduct.Embeds high standards of ethics and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Our Ideal CandidateHas 3+ years of experience in Investment Banking or M&A advisory.Has a track record in M&A transaction execution, including buy-side and sell-side deals.Familiar with the Metals & Mining industry, including industry dynamics and valuation drivers.Experienced in M&A processes from origination to completion.Knowledgeable in valuation methodologies like DCF, merger analysis, and comparables.Understanding of M&A legal and regulatory issues.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple transactions under time pressure.About Standard CharteredWe are an international bank committed to making a positive difference.
