We seek like-minded colleagues to join our team who are committed to these values and culture.ABOUT THE ROLEOngoing Full TimeBased in LeongathaBase salary $72,338 (incl Industry Allowance) + Maintenance Allowance + 11.5% superannuationIf you''re a natural leader or experienced in supervising staff, we have a great leadership opportunity within our Periodic Maintenance team.The key objectives of the Periodic Maintenance team is to undertake preventative maintenance activities to maximise the life of Council''s road and road related assets.As Team Leader, you will bring a positive work culture and play a key role in coordinating resources and supporting staff to deliver the activities related to Council''s periodic maintenance program including road shoulder vegetation spraying, hydro-jetting, sweeper, pit and pipe cleaning and minor stormwater asset maintenance.Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:Provide leadership, supervision and on the job training to the operations staff.Organise, plan, implement and supervise operations works.Assist across any area of the Operations where work priorities demand.Safe and competent operation of plant and carry out labouring duties as required.Ensure that all plant and equipment used by the crew is maintained in a safe and operational condition and that plant condition is reported.Liaise with the public on specific projects or requests.ABOUT YOUTo be part of this exciting leadership opportunity you will have:Certificate III Civil Construction (Road Construction & Maintenance) or equivalent, or similar experience in road maintenance & drainage.Plant operating experience.Proven ability or capability to plan work for others, make resourcing decisions, deal appropriately with unforeseen circumstances.Ability to lead a team and ensure performance and behaviours of the team meet high level of expectation.Excellent customer service skills to liaise with members of the public, contractors and internal stakeholders.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Skills or capability to utilise computer skills required of the role.Current Heavy Vehicle Licence.Current Victorian Drivers Licence.WHY YOU''LL LOVE WORKING WITH US!Work-life balance with flexible working arrangementsRostered Days Off offered forfull time rolesOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesSouth Gippsland is an organisation that is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
