The Momentum Alliance is made up of John Holland, Seymour Whyte and designpartners Mott MacDonald and Jacobs Group, in partnership with MRPV.The scope of works includes upgrading six kilometres of the Freeway with new traffic lanes, bridge upgrades and urbannoise walls, a dedicated busway (fully segregated from mainline traffic), and a new bridgeover the Yarra River.The NEL Project involves the design and construction of the upgrade of the Eastern Freeway from Hoddle Street in the west to Burke Road in the east, including:6km of brownfield freeway widening to accommodate additional traffic lanes in each direction3km dedicated busway separated from mainline trafficSignificant structures including 600m of bridges, including a 180m architectural steel shared use path bridge of the Yarra RiverFreeway-wide scope including ITS, retaining walls, stormwater drainage, noise walls, lighting and signageSite location to be around Chandler Highway / Eastern Freeway interchange.About the RoleControl the financial aspects of a project by providing accurate cost estimates, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring that the project remains within budget.The role involves developing cost control systems, analysing project cost trends, preparing forecasts, and supporting decision-making through financial insights, allowing senior management to make informed business decisions and thereby improving the organisations profitability.All our employees have a key role in ensuring the success of NELs health, safety, environmental & quality management program and to fulfil this, each person must adopt the Projects core safety and environmental valuesWhat you will do; Direct and review the analysis and interpretation of statistical and cost data to provide insights for management and decision-making. Compile monthly project cost reports, forecasts, and KPIs to ensure accurate financial tracking. Review, analyse, and report costs to both internal and external stakeholders, providing detailed insights into project performance. Manage the daily costing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in capturing project costs. Oversee the administration of digital dockets to streamline cost tracking and reporting processes. Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports. Manage and support the forecasting process, including preparation, review, and validation to provide accurate financial projections. Prepare schedules and forecasts for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements. Monitor and track costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Interpret operating results to assess the financial position of the project and make recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive, professional communication to keep all key personnel informed. Contribute to the selection, training, and development of finance and cost control staff to build a capable and effective team. Identify opportunities to improve cost control processes, reporting accuracy, and financial efficiency for the project. Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures.What we are looking for;Qualifications:Tertiary qualifications in a Business, Commerce/Statistics or relevant disciplineExperience: Demonstratedaccounting experience and/or experience in a similar role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
