That is what makes us Roche.Reporting to the Head of Digital and Integrated Solutions, the Workflow and Automation Consultant will lead laboratory consulting projects and work closely with project team members to create value for customers. You will provide expert analysis of laboratory workflow processes and identify areas of improvement according to required KPIs and anticipated customer needs.The Workflow and Automation Consultant will be responsible for driving operational excellence for the customer through optimised lab design, lean transformation, benchmarking and equipment efficiency. You will seek opportunities for optimisation of processes and provide support to the implementation team. You will play a role in enhancing customer relationships through actively seeking to convert the mind-set of customers towards the Roche portfolio.Leveraging your end-to-end knowledge of laboratory operations, the Workflow and Automation Consultant analyses the workflow of laboratories (both existing Roche customer and non-Roche customers) and creates a comprehensive vision for laboratory optimisation and efficiency gains through automation and/or workflow enhancements for the customer. The role of the Workflow and Automation Consultant plays a critical role in shaping both the pre and post sales customer solution. You will play a pivotal role in the pre-sales environment including formulating tender responses, designing instrument configurations, drafting laboratory designs, layouts and models, and presenting compelling solutions to customers, obtaining relevant customer data required for the shaping of Roche solutions. The role will also conduct post implementation solution optimisation work, ensuring Roche solutions are meeting or exceeding promised expectations based on pre-sale simulation reports. As a result, you will be instrumental in assisting customers find efficiency gains through relevant workflow studies and data analysis.This is a national role with the successful candidate to be based in Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne.Key responsibilities include:Business PerformanceSupport the business in the delivery of financial performance goals ensuring sales, revenue and profitability targets are met or exceeded.Collaborate with Customer Success (Sales), Solutions Management, and Lab IT teams in the design and execution of the strategic and tactical plans for relevant customer area portfolios.Together with key partners, develop customer solutions that continue to enhance the commercial position of RDA.Work with customers to optimise laboratory performance and seek opportunities to develop commercial potential through your understanding of the laboratory.Workflow Analysis and Laboratory ConfigurationConduct the analysis of existing Laboratory workflows to detect areas of improvement, being able to prepare new laboratory workflows, designs and configurationsDesign laboratory simulations and 3D models of potential laboratory layouts making use of tools such as Revit, Matterport, Visio and other design toolsConsult with the laboratory on potential efficiency gains by obtaining and analysing relevant LIS data files and consolidating data into a comprehensive solutionCustomer Engagement and ConsultingCommunicate complex workflow IT concepts to customers in a way that makes sense to the end user, demonstrating commercial, customer, patient, and hospital benefits of automation and workflow efficiency gainsShape solutions in collaboration with the sales and service teams as well as the customer to ensure that maximum value is being provided to the customerDefine the final technical solution and work with the cross-functional teams in communicating the solution to the customerCustomer and Stakeholder EngagementCoordinate and collaboration with Solution Management on the Total Lab Automation tenders technical responseConduct relevant trainings for both internal and external customersBuild and maintain strong business partnerships with Regional and Global colleagues, fostering a high degree of collaboration and engagement between RDA and Regional and Global networks.Establish strong peer level partnerships across Customer Success, Strategy and Solutions, and Service & Support, to execute the defined strategy and achieve revenue targets.Who you are:You are someone who influences your own development, pursues your interests across functions and geographies, and understands that a job title is not the final definition of who you are, but a starting point. You have;A degree in the areas of Biomedical Science, Laboratory Medicine, Biotechnology, and/or Business with at least 7 years of experience and demonstrated success positioning laboratory automation and workflow solutions into laboratory/hospital environments.You have excellent presentation skills and enjoy data crunching, preferably proficient in advanced MS Excel analysis with advanced knowledge of Laboratory Automation and IT Technology.End-to-end knowledge of core laboratory operations and strong knowledge of the workflow analytics including cross discipline simulations.Good understanding of diagnostics business and its operational & financial aspects.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Strong experience in the pathology laboratory workflow, LEAN Six Sigma certification will be an added advantage.Entrepreneurial, resilient, curious and creative, balanced with demonstrable technical skill and commercial acumen.This role is only open to candidates that have full eligibility to live and work in Australia.We do not accept any unsolicited resumes or enquiries from recruitment agencies.
