As a Procurement Manager, you will work on the procurement strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of project procurement objectives and requirements. Duties include: To provide market intelligence, cost advice, supply chain performance management, and feedback. To support a team of procurement professionals, including training & development, staff appraisals, retention & reward, and recruitment to provide an effective procurement service for the project. To be responsible and accountable for the procurement process of subcontractors, materials, plant, and services, in accordance with the project procurement strategy and commitments. To be accountable for the provision of management information and reports in accordance with project requirements. To develop professional, robust, and effective working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure best value for the project. Essential skills and experience: Sub-contract procurement Negotiation skills Legal & contracting law Risk & opportunity management Project procurement strategy Supply chain planning Experience within the construction industry or similar, with knowledge of interfaces and relationships. Ability to manage, plan, and structure operational procurement resources of varied experience and capability. Good communication skills (verbal & written). Proven ability to deliver robust procurement strategies and added value. Experience of CIPS or working towards CIPS is desirable (or chartership in another discipline such as CIOB or RICS).
