You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleAs the Executive Director of the Assets and Maintenance Group you will lead the strategic oversight and operational delivery of V/Lines asset management portfolio, driving long-term value, reliability, and safety across our network.Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team and closely with Government stakeholders to provide visionary leadership across the diverse portfolio which include asset management, rolling stock, performance, engineering, freight and third-party access and infrastructure safety and performanceKey Selection Criteria:This role is broad, complex, and high impact, with responsibilities that include:Strategic Asset Management - Drive the development of long-term corridor and rolling stock asset strategies that align with V/Lines service objectives and the Department of Transport & Plannings statewide transport vision.Operational Excellence & Crisis Management - Ensure V/Lines assets are proactively managed to meet safety, performance, and customer expectations, including a lead role in emergency response and business continuity planning.Rolling Stock Performance - Oversee the delivery of annual rolling stock maintenance plans and ensure the continuous improvement of fleet availability and reliability to enable operational performanceNetwork Engineering - Ensure engineering standards meet safety and regulatory obligations while exploring new technology and contemporary methodologies and practicesInfrastructure Asset Performance - Develop and implement asset improvements to minimise service disruptions, support amenity standards, and enhance the experience for regional passengers.Government, Freight and Third-Party relationship management Represent V/Line with Government agencies, DTP, freight industry partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders on all matters relating to asset and network development.About YouYou are a commercially minded, forward-thinking leader with extensive knowledge in asset management, infrastructure, or transport. You have a proven track record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, particularly within government, and your collaborative leadership style drives cross-functional alignment and accountability.
