Like a north star, embodying what it truly means to be a good company is what sets us apart and guides our every move.About the Opportunity:Based in Sydney CBD and reporting to the General Counsel, your role will include:Provide legal advisory and support on a wide range of legal matters including corporate and commercial law with a focus on general insurance and financial services laws.Advise on Australian Financial Services License obligations in relation to the establishment, operation, and monitoring of various distribution networks.Contract drafting, review and negotiation, ensuring that contracts are consistent with company policies, compliant with applicable laws and business objectives.Monitor and respond to regulatory matters, advising and assisting with correspondence to regulators such as ASIC, APRA and OAIC.Support the Company Secretary by assisting in the preparation of board materials, a range of corporate governance matters and ensuring the company complies with corporate governance standards and industry best practices.Identify and advise on the management of potential legal disputes and litigation, engaging with external counsel as required including correspondence material for Courts and Tribunals in relation to litigation matters.Promote the awareness of legal policies and procedures across the company to foster a culture of compliance, governance and risk management protocol.About You:As our preferred candidate, you will have:Minimum 5 8+ years of post-qualification legal experience gained both in-house as well as private law firm practice experience.
