We''re seeking a passionate Engineering Leader to join our Sydney team to drive operational excellence while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is the line manager for a team of up to 5, including Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians (fitters and electricians) based at our new Delivery Station in Chullora, Sydney. This role will maintain the focus on safety by training, developing and coaching their team.Learn more about Amazon RME in AustraliaKey job responsibilitiesLead, support and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring site operations are maintained in a safe, standard and efficient mannerWork with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutionsSupport the Sr. Maintenance and Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staffImplement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customersEnsure sufficient technical coverage is available for all the shifts by organising and directing the training program for the teamManage local and Australia-wide projects as assigned by the Sr. Maintenance and Engineering ManagerA day in the lifeAfter safety, the most important part of the role is leading your team and managing their performance and development, including organising additional training.You''ll be based at one of our operational sites, which allows you to give practical guidance to your team and get a clear vision of what''s happening at your site. This involves collecting data and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. You''ll also have a chance to create an operational plan to make the site more productive and efficient. That will involve setting up new projects that improve everything from operational processes to equipment maintenance.About The TeamOur Reliability Maintenance Engineering, or RME, team keep our equipment performing at its best. We''re a technically skilled team of collaborative professionals guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network.Basic QualificationsDemonstrated leadership experience, particularly in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExperience delivering leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development and team member engagementExperience in liaising and managing relationships between a variety of stakeholders including third-party vendorsFormal trade qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil)Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systemsPreferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon.
