You will shape the future of Australia''s sovereign tech capability.Vault Cloud is the national leader of providing highly secure and scalable sovereign cloud capability to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector. We pioneered the development of Australias only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core, being one of the first cloud organisations to be Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) certified and we continue to drive innovation, delivering First of a Kind capability across the sector.Vaults products serve high consequence environments and are subject to significant regulation. In this role you will break free of the rules and do whatever it takes to demonstrate the potential future of cloud and national security systems. You will be reporting to and ideating with our visionary CEO and founder.This role is based in our Sydney office and offers a unique opportunity to take a hands-on approach in rapidly developing and validating cutting-edge concepts, from AI-driven automation to miniaturised hyper-scale infrastructure. With a mandate to move fast and challenge the status quo, success is defined by the integration of innovations into Vaults core offerings.You will be accountable for:Taking Vaults vision and forming the execution strategy for Vaults innovation pipeline.Lead a small, high-performing team and engage external subject matter experts.Foster a fast-paced, hands-on, and high-trust innovation culture that prioritises execution over bureaucracy.Design, build, and test bleeding-edge cloud prototypes with infrastructure as code.Develop and deploy experimental cloud solutions from ruggedised battlefield cloud nodes to sovereign LLM deployment frameworks.Maintain a fail-fast mindsetiterate quickly, discard what doesnt work, and double down on breakthroughs.Engage with Defence, Intelligence, and critical infrastructure customers to showcase Proof of Concepts and collect feedback.Deliver bespoke demonstrations that showcase Vaults capabilities beyond its standard product portfolio.Ensure customers see practical, real-world applications of emerging technologies.Serve as Vaults technical evangelist, bridging the gap between cutting-edge R&D and real-world mission needs.Translate successful PoCs into compelling business cases for Vaults leadership and product teams.To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:A love of technologyDeep Technical Expertise in Cloud & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Strong experience designing, building, and deploying cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or similar.Knowledge of compute, networking, storage, and security architectures for mission-critical workloads.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and automation frameworks.Ability to develop Proof of Concepts from scratch in fast-paced environmentsSkilled at translating complex technology into compelling, real-world demonstrations.Experience leading small, high-performance teams in agile environments.Flexibility to enjoy and thrive within a fast-paced, agile, and expanding scale-up environmentWhats in it for you?Working directly with the founderBe at the forefront of Australian made technologyLow policy and documentationInnovation lab budget access to cloud credits, hardware, or third-party devsUp to 10% of time dedicated to learning & development or time to explore moonshot ideas5 days of bonus leave per yearCompany paid parental leaveA diverse culture where we celebrate our people and their unique, individual perspectivesOur culture is a big part of who we are so, for us, it is vital that each of our people (known as Vaulters) align to and are continuously guided by our core values.You will collaborate to provide secure and professional cloud services to a broad range of users.
