It works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate approximately 900,000 practitioners across 16 health professions, ensuring patient safety and improving health regulation. Guided by values of integrity, respect, collaboration, and achievement, Ahpra aims to build community trust and confidence in health practitioners. As a risk-based regulator, it balances public safety with supporting a professional health workforce in Australia. About the Role Reporting to the Executive Director Finance and Risk, the National Director Finance oversees finance business partnering, strategic investment advice, financial planning, and digital evolution. The role aims to elevate the teams brand, provide trusted financial information, enable technology, and influence decision-making to ensure the success of the Scheme. As a visionary leader, you will lead a team of finance professionals to develop and execute the business client strategy, synthesize and communicate financial and statistical information, and advise on budgets, fee setting, and key initiatives. About You You are a trusted professional and authentic leader with extensive experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a regulatory, government, or member organization. Results-oriented with deep expertise in strategic outcomes, you excel in developing performance standards and delivering results. With a curious mindset and strong data analytical skills, you can confidently present complex data to Boards and senior stakeholders. You have a proven track record in enterprise-wide project management, particularly in technology optimization, and diligently apply governance and risk management practices. Purpose-led, you inspire and motivate teams to create value, foster continuous improvement, and are passionate about delivering outcomes that enhance health regulation and reform.
