Chief Operating Officer Virtual Power PlantFWG29004Locations: Melbourne, Perth, Sydney or Brisbane, AustraliaAustralias largest Virtual Power Plant operator is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to drive sustainable growth and ensure operational excellence. The COO will lead a diverse, high-performing team including Managers, Engineers, Service Delivery Managers, Electricians, Installers, and Project Managers. The role requires emotional intelligence, situational awareness, and strong problem-solving skills to enable successful business delivery. As part of the C-Suite, the COO will contribute to overall business strategy and leadership.Responsibilities:Develop strategic and operational plans for business growth.Build and lead a high-performing Operations, Installation, and Service team, ensuring excellent installation management, client satisfaction, and employee engagement.Implement and maintain health and safety policies, managing operational risks effectively.Drive business growth through new product development and geographical expansion.Manage supply chain and operational costs efficiently.Promote innovation and continuous improvement, with performance reporting.Support Fleet Management development alongside the CTO.Oversee the Member Services team to resolve customer faults successfully.Manage the end-to-end hardware stack as part of routine operations.Foster a positive, proactive, and accountable organizational culture centered on safety, teamwork, and customer focus.Requirements:Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Masters degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.Experience in operations, engineering, infrastructure, or project delivery, preferably within renewable energy, energy retail, or clean tech sectors.Knowledge of deploying residential or commercial solar and BESS assets, with familiarity with Australian standards (AS4777, AS5033, AS5139) highly regarded.Proven ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships, influencing internal and external stakeholders.Leadership style characterized by empowerment and emotional intelligence, with success in scaling teams and systems in high-growth environments.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and root cause analysis skills.Experience in data analysis, performance metrics, financial management, budgeting, and cost control.Project development and management experience.Excellent communication skills suitable for engaging with C-level executives and Boards.Ability to communicate effectively and drive outcomes collaboratively.Experience in operational and process improvements to develop teams towards operational maturity.Willingness to travel interstate as required.Australian citizen or permanent resident. #J-18808-Ljbffr
