Job Description

The Role:Are you a Property Management professional dreaming of working closer to home whilst still having the support of an experienced Sydney Property team?In this newly created role, you will provide Asset Management and Strategic Planning services to The Hunter Presbytery, which directly manages or oversees 15 properties, including residential, Churches, commercial, land-banking, and development sites. Ensuring properties are compliant whilst driving strategy to realise maximum missional and financial outcomes. The Hunter Presbytery oversees 30 Congregations with approximately 80 properties between them. From time to time, the Presbytery Property Partner will undertake strategic reviews of properties whilst managing ad-hoc property projects on these properties.Please Note: Although most of your role will be based in the North, and the hunter there would be an expectation to attend our Sydney office at least once a fortnight.What you will be doing:Be the first point of contact for Presbytery property mattersDevelop and then maintain a property strategy for The Hunter Presbytery.Engage and manage consultants to conduct feasibility studies for potential projects.Provide reports, conduct research, and make recommendations to the relevant Presbytery members regarding suggested courses of action.Develop and implement a Capital Works plan and budget.Liaise with Local Council and external consultants to obtain Development Approval (DA), Complying Development Certificates (CDC), Occupation Certificates, etc.Engage and manage external agents for property management, leasing, and property transactions.Assess project risks, including the development of contingency plans.Prepare, submit, and present Business Cases to the appropriate Presbytery Committees.Be the first point of contact for Presbytery property matters.Communicate with Presbytery staff and members on property issues, providing recommendations and facilitating approvals.What you will need:Minimum of three years experience in Asset Management.Relevant qualifications and/or proven experience in Project Management.Experience in budgeting and expense management.Ability to evaluate commercial and property proposals.Understanding of WHS and Risk Management principles.Experience in lease negotiation and administration.Exceptional customer service skills.Demonstrated ability to build and foster partnerships and collaborate effectively with others.Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, including the confidence to address and manage sensitive issues and relationships.Why us:We are a for-purpose organisation, and your work will significantly impact and benefit the Uniting Churchs mission and the wider community.Remote Working with occasional office daysQuarterly Reward and Recognition ProgramHybrid Working Conditions12 Weeks Paid Parental LeaveOpportunity to Purchase LeaveApplications close Friday 6th June @12pm #J-18808-Ljbffr
