We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and experienced Gum Cutter to support our Wildlife department, as we continue to welcome visitors and share our conservation story. About the Role Reporting to the Plantations Supervisor, our Full Time Gum Cutter (Tuesday-Saturday) will be enthusiastic, capable, and able to work safely in a fast-paced environment. This hands-on role involves working offsite at our plantations to cut and collect high-quality fodder for our herbivorous animals, including koalas and tree kangaroos. You will collaborate closely with Wildlife Keepers to select the best quality fodder, working outdoors with a small team across various locations. About You To succeed, you should be energetic, friendly, and professional within a busy team environment. Key skills and qualifications include: Experience in gum cutting and/or plantations management (highly desirable) Ability to operate power equipment and hold a Chainsaw licence (or ability to obtain one) Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care (highly desirable) Wildlife handling and husbandry skills (highly desirable) Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday Energetic, friendly personality, able to work with diverse people Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, involving walking and physical activity Ability to carry/support up to 10kg for prolonged periods Current manual Drivers licence and First Aid qualifications (highly desirable) What We Can Offer Our commitment is to protect, conserve, and celebrate our environmental, built, and cultural heritage.
