Works operators provide skilled and professional laboring, truck driving, plant operating, and other duties involved in the construction and maintenance of Councils roads, drainage, bridges, parks, reserves, water and sewer networks. Minimum entry level varies depending on skills, tickets and qualifications.About The PositionThe Works Operator position includes a broad range of jobs delivered across Councils community infrastructure including utilities, roads, and parks providing maintenance and improvement works. Works operators provide skilled and professional laboring, truck driving, plant operating, and other duties involved in the construction and maintenance of Councils roads, drainage, bridges, parks, reserves, water and sewer networks. Minimum entry level varies depending on skills, tickets and qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain parks, reserves, and sporting fields, including horticultural and gardening tasksGeneral maintenance, minor construction, labouring to Councils road networks in an effective and efficient manner inline with Councils standards of qualityAssist with traffic control and emergency response worksSafely operate all plant and machinery including trucks and vehicles, effectively and efficiently for transporting equipment materials and maintenance works under supervision within Councils guidelines, polices and practicesFollow WHS procedures and complete required documentation, including risk assessments and pre-start checksRead the Position Description and learn more about this exciting opportunity.About YouCurrent Class C Driver LicenceGeneral construction induction card (or willingness to obtain)SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card (or willingness to obtain)HR or HC Truck Licence and Traffic Control tickets (desirable or willingness to obtain)Demonstrated labouring experience and ability to work effectively in a teamCertificates of competency in plant operation (e.g. loader, skid steer, excavator, grader) (desirable)Certificate III in Network Operations or Horticulture (desirable)What We OfferPermanent Full Time, 38 hours per week,Temporary Full Time Term Contract, 38 hours per week, for a period up to 2nd March 2029A gross weekly salary from $1122.48 to $1261.12 based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills and experience.
