If you have a disability or specific access requirements, please let us know how we can offer you additional support.Free travel on all public transport - Trains | Trams | V/Line20% leave loadingFlexible work environment | hybrid workStable work environment - Victorian Government state-owned enterprise16 weeks paid parental leave (36 unpaid)Free access to on-site gym and end of trip facilitiesTraining and development opportunities to help you grow and develop your careerThe challenges of our fast-growing sector put our people at the front of some of Victoria''s most exciting projects in telecommunications, property development and project delivery - with job opportunities as diverse as our organisation.The RoleAs a key member of the VicTrack Network Management Centre (NMC), NMC Technical Officers participate in the day-to-day operations to monitor and manage all of VicTrack telecommunications network based on SDH, PDH, DWDM, OTN, IP/MPLS, xDSL, wireless transmission and access networks.The NMC Technical Officers undertake day-to-day activities on a 24-hour basis as part of the management of the network, these activities include:active monitoring of networkstroubleshooting of network issues and faultsresolution and escalation of network issues and faultshandling of change requests, permits to work, security monitoring calls and job ticket reviewscontributing to the continuous improvement of NMC operations and processesThis is a shift-based role that requires periodic and regular attendance by the NMC staff for morning, afternoon, night as well as weekend and public holiday shifts.Key Responsibilities:Analyse alarms using various operational support system (OSS) components, monitor network performance, proactively take preventative action wherever possible according to agreed procedures to minimise service disruptionImplement quality and cost-effective solutions to resolve network and service issues raisedApply the prescribed solutions that meet customer requirements and existing SLAs where applicableAttempt restoration of network and service issues using pre-defined solutions, and, if not successful, gather relevant information to escalate to the next level of support, either internally or externallyContribute to the development and documentation of NMC procedures, processes and knowledgebase as requiredMonitor and process permit to work and change requestsReceive and action any calls for the security desk monitoring functionComplete allocated NMC reviews and sign-off for internal job tickets using VicTrack''s service delivery systemContribute to various forums relating to process, procedure, network/service issue identification and solution generation or other business requirementsQualifications:Diploma/COT in Electronics, Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering, or extensive and relevant industry experience (essential)CCNA, JNCIA or similar certifications (essential)ITIL Certification (preferred)Knowledge & Experience:Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining carrier grade telecommunication services across one or more of the following networks: PDH, SDH, DWDM, OTN, IP/MPLS, xDSL and wireless (essential)Working in a 24 x 7 operational environment with shift work (essential)Experience providing technical support on a broad range of networks and systemsExposure to a customer centric, delivery focused environmentExperience in configuring Juniper, Cisco, Extreme, and other carrier grade switches/routes/muxes/DSLAMSExperience with Microfocus, OBM, or other similar OSS platformsTo Apply***PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT YOUR RESUME AND/OR COVER LETTER IN PDF FORMATIf you are interested in this exciting opportunity with us, please click apply and submit your resume in PDF format only.
