This role will play an important part in helping the organisation to understand the needs, experiences and priorities of our diverse community - so we can plan and deliver services that make a positive impact on health and wellbeing.You will lead and support a range of projects, using qualitative and quantitative data to identify social and demographic trends, health challenges and emerging issues. Using disaggregated data you will support the organisation to understand the needs of different demographic groups within the community, to guide evidence-based and data-informed planning, that promote health equity. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that combines research, data storytelling, stakeholder engagement and policy development.We offer a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) based on a 40-hour work week, along with flexible work arrangements and work-from-home opportunities to support your work-life balance.What youll deliverConduct qualitative and quantitative research on health and social planning issues, to better understand community needs and provide an evidence-base to guide policy and program development.Undertake literature reviews to support evidence-informed decision making.Synthesise data and research findings into visually appealing reports, presentations, dashboards and infographics to support organisational planning.Deliver presentations and training sessions to build organisational capacity to access and use available data.Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of interventions to improve community outcomes.Provide evidence-based, outcome-focused recommendations to senior management on social policy issues, to drive positive community outcomes.Develop approaches to monitor and report on effectiveness of strategies, policies, projects and planning outcomes.What youll bringDegree or higher in public health, health promotion, epidemiology, biostatistics, health science, or other relevant discipline with several years of relevant experience; or higher formal qualifications with a shorter period of experience.Strong research skills, with experience in data analysis, survey design, and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.Demonstrated experience in strategy or policy development, preferably with working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal policy and legislative contexts.Sound understanding of the social and commercial determinants of health and the associated planning levers that support improved health outcomes (some familiarity with urban planning will be highly regarded).Proven experience in developing innovative community-based projects or solutions to support enhanced social outcomes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a variety of audiences, with demonstrated success influencing stakeholders at both the strategic level and operational level.Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check.A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.Please visit our careers page at Careers at Casey to view a detailed position description.Whats next?If you think this role might be for you, we would love to hear from you.Please apply by following the links and attaching a cover letter and resume.
