You will be a generalist anaesthetist delivering high quality care to a broad range of specialties in adults and children.You will be actively encouraged to develop your area of interest.Oncall has been agreed at 57 days per year.You will be oncall with a junior anaesthetist and though their experience may be limited, call backs are not frequent. The working week consists of four days, each being 10 hours. Three days a week will be allocated as clinical duties with one day per week of nonclinical time to support professional activities.Key Accountabilities:Provide best practice evidence based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice.Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and local Health Service procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets.Participate in the ANZCA CPD portfolioWhat they can offer:Country living with a meaningful career pathCorporate wellbeing programs, including the Fitness PassportOpportunities for learning and development, including in-house training with My Health Learning and the NSW Health RTOProfessional growth and accelerated career progressionThe HospitalThe Health Service is an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our community. The hospital is a modern campus built approximately 10 years ago with a full perioperative suite including four operating theatres (incorporating endoscopy), day surgery and recently installed complete new digital anaesthetic machines and patient monitors. The maternity unit has approximately 500 births per year and is supported by an enthusiastic cohort of specialist paediatricians. Surgical services include general surgery, orthopaedic (elective) surgery, O&G, urology and ophthalmology. Support is provided by a comprehensive physician service covering most subspecialties in medicine and a seven bed combined ICU/HDU/CCU.The LocationAs the fastest growing inland city in NSW it has strong employment opportunities. This vibrant university town is pleasant and rural with a strong educational history. There are five private secondary schools within the community as well as two secondary public schools. There are more than 20 cool climate wineries within the area which are supported by a base of diverse agriculture. The city is perfect for families and has a number of good private and public schools. It is just two and a half hours drive from Sydney.
