Job Description

The Team: Digital Health: The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program team is responsible for delivering the Digital Health Transformation Strategy, a 10-year program aimed at transforming the state''s health system into a world-class, innovative, and integrated system. The goal is to empower consumers and enable healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies. The program, including the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, is vital for the efficient delivery of frontline health services into the future. It seeks to create a more connected and accessible health system across Tasmania, ensuring all Tasmanians receive the care they need, in the right place, at the right time, ultimately enhancing health outcomes. The Role: The Project Manager oversees ICT projects within the Department of Health, ensuring alignment with business goals and ICT strategies. Responsibilities include managing project plans, documentation, and communication to ensure successful delivery of Digital Health and ICT solutions into live environments. The role involves collaborating with business units, vendors, and stakeholders to identify needs, implement change management, and deliver impactful solutions. Working closely with project sponsors, the Project Manager ensures timely delivery and seamless transition of ICT initiatives into operations. You will need: Proven experience leading complex information system implementation projects. Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective liaising and negotiating. Ability to prepare detailed reports, briefings, and correspondence. Details of appointment: Permanent, full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum, plus an employer superannuation contribution of 11.5%. Eligibility: Desirable criteria include: Relevant tertiary qualifications in business management, ICT, information management, change management, or related disciplines. Relevant industry experience. Current Drivers Licence. Position features: Duties outside normal working hours may be required. Travel between sites and interstate travel may be necessary.
