This is a key leadership role within the finance function, responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and supporting the business through accurate and timely financial insights. You will collaborate closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of financial operations and decision-making.This position is based at our Head Office in Summer Hill, with free on-site parking, access to gym facilities, and generous childcare discounts.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the financial accounting function, including transactional accounting and daily cash flow managementManage the end-to-end month-end process, including preparation of the Leadership Pack and commentary on resultsEnsure data integrity in MYOB Advanced and maintain the chart of accountsPrepare and review monthly account reconciliations and financial reportsMonitor working capital and assess business cash flow requirements dailyOversee statutory compliance, including coordination of half-year and full-year auditsReview indirect tax obligations, including BAS and FBT submissionsManage government funding processes, including compliance audits and new initiative evaluationsSupport business administration and company secretarial duties as requiredLead a team of 10 finance professionals (4 direct and 6 indirect reports) across Accounts Receivable and Financial AccountingKey RequirementsMinimum 5 years experience in Financial/Management Accounting or a similar roleProven management and team leadership experienceBachelors degree in AccountingCA or CPA qualifiedIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalSolid understanding of technical accounting principlesFull Australian working rightsHighly RegardedExperience in the childcare or multi-site service industryFamiliarity with MYOB AdvancedKnowledge of income tax complianceThink you have what it takes to join the Montessori Academy team?
