The Opportunity Reporting into the Head of Asset Reliability, you will initially be responsible for the design, development and implementation of processes, procedures and reporting for the Asset Support Centre and consulting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the business. Once set up, you will lead a team responsible for being the first point of triage in fault finding with train crew, terminal operators, and maintenance teams, looking at the most efficient outcomes preventing delays and cancelations of our services. As the Asset Support Centre Manager, you will serve as a focal point for our internal and external customer concerns, looking to identify, research and resolve technical problems for end users on a variety of issues. In this role you will liaise with various internal and external agencies to ensure Pacific Nationals rollingstock assets are maintained to the best conditions and accordingly reports are in our CMMS for any non-service faults to ensure our assets are maintained to the highest levels of configuration. Key responsibilities include: * Design, develop and implement processes, procedures and reporting for the Asset Support Centre * Lead the ASC multi-OEM technical teams to provide the highest levels of triage for Pacific National * Liaise with the operational Maintenance Execution Managers (MEM) to ensure that plans that are established by the ASC are complied with and delivered, where the MEMs deviate from the intended defined plans seek an understanding as to why the plan was not delivered. * Further develop existing processes and/or introduce or document new processes to further enhance the operational service delivery outcomes of Pacific National * Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all advice delivered and through any actions delivered to the internal customers'' requesting assistance! * Provide the management of the technical teams that provide the first line of triage assistance. * Ensure that customer experiences achieve the highest levels of problem-solving through continuous improvement and process. * Responds to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support from local and remote customers. About You: To succeed in this role, you will be a flexible and agile leader who possesses strong influential, negotiation and consultative skills to shape pragmatic outcomes. You will have the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment that is rapidly changing and the capability to deal with a variety of potentially challenging scenarios. In addition, youll be expected to demonstrate: * Wealth of experience in rail, with at least 2 years in rail operations * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail * Experience in delivering physical maintenance activities across a range of either locomotives or wagons. * Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Exceptional customer service orientation and an ability to coerce operational entities to accept changes may need to be made for improved service. * Patience for dealing with difficult customer-service situations, often when the environment is highly charged. * Operational excellence and LEAN methodology exposure * Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Safety is highly desirable.
