Quality Assurance Officer - Sunshine Sugar Harwood Mill & RefineryAdd expected salary to your profile for insights.Opportunity to develop and learn as a member of an established and proven Quality Assurance System. Position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is based at Harwood Mill & Refinery in northern NSW. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the established QA systems, Food Safety, and procedures.Liaise with internal departments to ensure systems and controls are in place as per food safety and quality certification, meeting customer requirements.Assist in resolving non-conformance issues and food safety issues, including actively managing the customer complaint system and supplier performance.Conduct internal and external audits concerning food safety and quality systems.Participate in certification and customer audits across all three sites.Lead initiatives to improve employee education in food safety and quality operational processes.What we are looking for:Suitable qualifications in a relevant field.Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment with accredited QA systems (desirable).Initiative to learn established QA systems and teamwork to promote compliance across departments.Strong written and oral communication skills.Experience working with external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.High attention to detail.Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.Commitment to safety and fostering a positive safety culture.Sound problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.About usWe are an Australian-owned sugar milling and refining company operating three sugar mills and a refinery in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
