The role leads the strategic direction, planning, and delivery of high-quality, impactful communications that support the DCCEEWs strategic priorities and policy agenda. This includes responsibility for internal communication, stakeholder engagement, digital content, brand and reputation, executive communication and website communications. The Director ensures alignment with NSW Government priorities and standards and plays a key advisory role to the Executive Director, Ministers Office, and senior stakeholders.About YouThis role requires an experienced corporate communications professional and people leader who can provide high level leadership and direction to the communications team across DCCEEW. You will be an experienced communications executive with strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills who has experience working in fast-paced, high-volume complex organisations. Your experience will also include leading teams through operational change and navigating highly sensitive and at times contentious political matters in the environment, energy, climate change and water related sectors.Other key skills and experience include but are not limited to:Lead the development and implementation of a proactive and integrated corporate communications strategy that supports service delivery and reform.Facilitate close coordination with Executives regarding messaging, strategy and forward planning to promote and enhance organisational engagement and culture.Coordinates the drafting of speeches, presentations, and messaging for executives, including the Secretary, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.Develop and implement policy, framework and guidelines to control and coordinate communications interactions, across the department to integrate and standardise messages, meet audience expectations and cater for diverse stakeholders.Develop a proactive communications strategy and lead the coordination of communication capabilities across the division ensuring an integrated, single voice and message is presented at a consistently high standard.Oversee the agencys website strategy and digital content governance, ensuring the website is user-centred, accessible, accurate, compliant, and aligned with the agencys strategic priorities.Oversee brand management, content strategy, publications, digital and social media presence to ensure accessibility, clarity, and consistency.Act as a key point of contact for key stakeholders to ensure matters are quickly addressed, responses are well coordinated, tailored and communicated appropriately.Coordinate the distribution of internal and external information throughout the Department for the Secretary and the Ministers Office through a variety of communication means including digital contact, online collateral audio visual and mainstream publications.Direct the planning and management of campaigns, announcements, and communication activities, including public consultation and stakeholder engagement initiatives.Establish, develop and drive positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the perspectives of key stakeholders are considered and addressed.Degree qualification in media, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Experience at advising and influencing senior management on communications and stakeholder management strategy development and delivery.Translating complex policy and regulatory issues into accessible, engaging messages that resonate with a range of audiences.Maintaining a clear and consistent digital and online presence while navigating legacy systems and content fragmentation.Proven record in contentious issues management and communication planning and delivery.For more information read the full Role Description:Director Corporate CommunicationsWho we areThe Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water(DCCEEW) works to protect the states environment and heritage.
