Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create AlertChief Superintendent, Protective Security - NSW Sheriff''s OfficeDivision: Courts Tribunals and Service DeliveryLocation:Sydney, NSW, AU, 2000Sydney CBDTemporary Full-Time (35 HPW)Base salary ($133,211 - $137,178), plus employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingYour roleThe Chief Superintendent Protective Security oversees the daily operations of the Security Risk Unit within the Security, Intelligence, and Risk Command at the NSW Sheriffs Office.Reporting to the Commander, this role ensures team members perform efficiently and effectively, develops relationships with external law enforcement and regulatory agencies, collaborates with the judiciary and court users on intelligence and risk management strategies, and liaises with Regional Commanders on high-risk or sensitive security matters.What youll doAs the Chief Superintendent your focus in the role is to ensure smooth and effective operations within the Security Risk Unit by working closely with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, collaborating with judges and court staff on intelligence and risk strategies, and addressing high-risk security issues with Regional Commanders.You will alsoProvide operational and protective security advice in relation to courts & tribunals. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Security Risk Unit, including supervising a team of Superintendent Security Coordinators.Review completed security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and security audits of court & tribunal locations as required.Conduct investigations following critical security incidents that occur within courts and provide advice and recommendations.Conduct Jury investigations following breaches of the Jury Act 1997, including the interviewing of witnesses, preparation of witness statements, reports, and briefs of evidence.Develop or review security related policies and procedures which contribute to the safety and security of the court environment.Develop operational procedures and plans for specific and high security court matters as they arise.Provide security briefings and presentations to Courts and Tribunal staff and deliver guidance and training where required.Maintain an awareness and understanding of contemporary physical security and risk management methodologies so as to keep abreast of any developments affecting court operations.Consult, communicate and liaise at a high level with Judicial Officers and senior executive members from a range of law enforcement and stakeholder agencies.What were looking forOperational Management: Supervising the Security Risk Unit and managing day-to-day operations.Risk Assessment and Investigation: Conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, security audits, and investigations following security incidents.Policy Development and Implementation: Creating and reviewing security policies and procedures and developing operational plans for high-security matters.Communication and Training: Providing security briefings, presentations, and training to court staff, and liaising with Judicial Officers and senior executives.If you are viewing this ad in Seek and wish to apply via their portal, you will be required to either set up a profile or login via your existing Seek account.To apply directly via the DCJ Careers site click here .
