If so, we want you to be part of our remarkable SYDNEY WDVCAS team!Why Join us?Professional Growth: Contribute to building something extraordinary and grow along with us with regular professional supervision.Balance and Well-being: We prioritize your work-life harmony, ensuring a supportive and flexible work environment with a 35-hour week and flexible hours.More holidays: We have 5 weeks holiday plus additional leave at Christmas.Great salary: Starting full-time package $97,000 + super (negotiable, dependent on experience).About Justice Support CentreJustice Support Centre is a not-for-profit community legal centre.Our legal services include information, advice, and legal representation for people in South West Sydney, especially those with limited access to justice, including specialized legal services for victim-survivors of DFV.Our DFV services include court support and advocacy, safety planning, case management, and financial counselling.Both legal and DFV teams offer tailored training and workshops to community members and organizations.We provide clients with guidance, legal advice, support services, and strength to claim their rights, understand their options, and take their next steps.About the roleThe WDVCAS Caseworker provides case management support to WDVCAS clients with complex and serious needs affecting their safety, benefiting from intensive support.Key duties include, but are not limited to:Collaborating with DFV Specialist Workers to accept referrals for case management.Independently developing, prioritizing, and reviewing case plans for clients.Providing trauma-informed support, safety assessments, expert advice, and appropriate referrals.Conducting intake meetings with Managers or Assistant Managers regarding referrals.Performing risk assessments using the DVSAT and safety planning with clients.Providing relevant information and making warm referrals to service providers.Liaising with the SAM Coordinator to ensure clients at serious threat are prioritized.Preparing client information for Safety Action Meetings and attending SAMs and court as needed.Developing and maintaining relationships with key partners, including NSW Police, Courts, legal representatives, and referral agencies.Undertaking tasks as directed by the WDVCAS Manager and participating in supervision, training, and community engagement activities.General DutiesAdhere to all Justice Support Centre policies, procedures, and standards.Maintain confidentiality and privacy.Participate in team meetings, reviews, and professional development.Promote the Centre positively and work collaboratively with colleagues.Perform administrative duties, including word processing and clerical tasks.Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.Minimum qualifications and experience include:Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in social work or community services.Experience in case management and trauma-informed work.Understanding of domestic and family violence complexities and intersectionality.Knowledge of criminal justice responses, including Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders.Excellent communication, negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills.Ability to work with interpreter services and fluency in a community language other than English is desirable.Knowledge of Sydney CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, and local community services network.This position is open to female applicants only, as a genuine occupational qualification under s. 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
