Mater Health is currently seeking full time Rotational Resident Medical Officers, to work across our Mater Hospital Campuses. We are offering a one or two year maximum term contract for a January 2026 commencement.Mater Hospital Brisbane is a healthcare leader committed to the integration of health, education and research that offers a 24-hour adult Emergency Department, ICU and Coronary Care units, Day Surgery, Oncology, Medical and Surgical Units.Mater is home to Australias largest maternity service and Queenslands first purpose built 24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Centre, internationally renowned Maternal Fetal Medicine Service and onsite Neonatal Critical Care Unit, providing Intensive Care services for babies born premature that require lifesaving careTo provide medical care under the supervision and direction of registrars and senior medical staff.Develop proficiency in clinical, management, procedural and communication skills.Participate actively in organisational in-service, educational and training activities.Participate in the RMO clinical training program.The appointee will be required to participate/work rostered and un-rostered overtime, late/evening/night shifts, weekends and public holidays.Rotational Resident Medical Officers at the Mater have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of departments including:Anaesthetics | Cardiology | Colorectal Surgery | Emergency Medicine | ENT/Max Fac Surgery |Gastroenterology | General Medicine/Rheumatology| General Surgery/Upper GI/HPB | Gynaecological Oncology | Haematology | Intensive Care | Endocrinology | Infectious Diseases & Hospital In The Home | Renal | Neonatology | Neurology | Obstetrics and Gynaecology | Oncology and Palliative Care | Orthopaedic Surgery | Paediatrics (at Queensland Childrens Hospital) | Plastic Surgery | Respiratory Medicine | Urology | Vascular Surgery.Career Opportunities and Upskilling include:Surgical Streaming; General Practice Pathway; Critical Care Pathway; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Basic Physicians Training and many other opportunities to work towards your chosen career path.About youQualificationsRegistration as a medical practitioner without conditions, with the Medical Board of Queensland. In approved circumstances, eligibility for registration, with conditions, as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Queensland which must be produced at the commencement of employment.Standard Pathway will be considered if you are not from a country of competent authority, however, AMC1/AMC2 and the English exam will be a mandatory requirement prior to applying.
