RI&A assesses and escalates reports of misconduct and statutory breaches, reviews funding applications under the Assetless Administration Fund, and helps combat investment scams. The team also issues compliance alerts and contributes to protecting Australian investors through proactive intelligence work.The roleAs a Team Leader, You WillLead and coach a multi-disciplinary team in assessing misconduct reports, reportable situations, and statutory reports, ensuring appropriate regulatory responses.Assess complex and sensitive cases, applying the law and identifying criminal, civil, and administrative remedies.Guide team members in understanding ASIC''s regulatory role and priorities.Conduct and oversee legal research, providing advice on corporate and financial services law in line with public sector obligations.Make sound, evidence-based decisions aligned with ASIC''s strategic goals.Communicate clearly with stakeholders via phone and written correspondence, including on complex misconduct matters.Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and practices that support team objectives and priorities.Prepare detailed briefings, submissions, and responses to internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrate strong leadership in managing team performance and delivering on business plans.Maintain accurate records across multiple internal systems.About YouIn this role, you will be accountable for achieving business goals while creating a supportive environment that enables your team to perform effectively and develop their full potential. You will lead by example, managing both your own and your team''s performance, building a committed team aligned with organisational goals, and recommending system improvements to enhance long-term outcomes. As a valued member of the RI&A team, you will also take on additional responsibilities as needed, collaborate professionally across ASIC, embody the values of Accountability, Professionalism, and Teamwork, and ensure a safe workplace for yourself and others.In Addition, You Will HaveRelevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, law, or economics highly regarded.Ability to interpret and apply ASIC legislation (Corporations Act, ASIC Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act) or quickly develop this expertise.Understanding of Australian markets and ASIC''s regulatory role, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.Proven leadership skills to motivate and develop a diverse team.Experience presenting complex information clearly to varied audiences.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience managing cases in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with excellent time management.Industry experience in financial services, regulation, government, or corporate/commercial law.Skilled in assessing and resolving complex client and stakeholder queries across multiple channels.Ability to provide specialist advice, interpret legislation, and understand commercial drivers of regulated entities.View the position description for more information or click apply'' to start your application.
