If you take pride in your work and want to be part of an organisation that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we encourage you to apply.ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER PEOPLE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLYYour ContributionThe position contributes to the achievement of a physically and environmentally safe workplace/residence through effectively and efficiently maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all property, fittings, surfaces, equipment and materials to acceptable standards.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake cleaning in accordance with TAIHS Policy and Procedures, and at the advice of Line ManagerPerform all cleaning tasks within an allocated area as instructed for any shiftClean and maintain internal and external public areas including toilets, recreational areas, entry ways, foyers, bathroom / toilet blocks, verandas /balconies, stairs etcAttend and clean casual spillsAdhere to cleaning procedures for specialised areas including the Primary Health clinic areas and outreach clinical area(as applicable to work location)Maintain tidy and clean linen storagePut out new linen bags and take full linen bags to linen collection areas/ trolleys (as applicable to work location)Follow colour code procedures for reusable / single use cleaning equipmentReplenish consumables including but not limited to hand towels, toilet paper, liquid soapEnsure all cleaning equipment is in good working orderMaintain adequate stock supply at all times (as appropriate to work location)Store and secure cleaning equipment, chemicals, machinery and stock in the work locationReceipt, checking and unpacking of non-sterile stores delivery (as applicable to work location)Perform all waste management duties associated with infectious cleaning procedure.Report on equipment and material usage and requirementsOther cleaning duties as directed by the Senior Cleaning SupervisorQualifications And Experience3 -5 years experience working as a commercial cleaner in general and/or clinical environmentsCertification in Chemical Handling and Storage and Manual HandlingAbility to perform a physically demanding positionDemonstrated experience and ability to perform general cleaning duties including operation of motorised cleaning machinery and use of cleaning equipmentSound work ethic and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and directions and work with a minimum of supervision.Good time management and the ability to prioritiseDemonstrated experience and understanding of waste management/disposal protocolsCapable in and an awareness of the importance of infection control protocols and hand hygiene in a clinical environmentRequired Licenses And ChecksAbility to pass a National Police Check no Serious/Criminal/Court RecordsCurrent Blue Card (Queensland''s Working with Children Check)Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)Offer of the position will be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment to support the selection process.Benefits Of Working With TAIHSTAIHS provides access to an employee assistance program and access to learning and development opportunities.
