Higher Ground Education is bringing on a Facilities Maintenance Lead to help support and manage our schools facilities needs for our Northern Virginia schools!These are important roles for the Facilities team, and were looking for customer-oriented individuals who are both clear communicators and possess strong technical skills. If youre excited about working in an entrepreneurial environment and providing top-tier service to school leaders, this role is for you!ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. We are looking for a jack-of-all-trades who can do small repairs and troubleshoot issues that can be resolved with a "do it yourself" fix for the schools'' buildings and facilities. Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, reporting to the Regional Manager. Must be able to work flexible hours.The Facilities Maintenance Technician willPaint, remodel, refurbish areas as neededRepair, maintain, and monitor equipment and amenitiesPrepare classrooms for incoming classesChange light bulbs, interior and exterior, as neededPerform small repairs and support diagnosing issuesPerform other work-related duties as assignedOn-call maintenance for all facilities in the regionSkillsWed love to talk to you if you haveHigh school education or equivalent5-8 years of experience in facilities maintenanceBasic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or carpentryAbility to work with minimal supervisionOrganized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-taskExcellent communication and follow-through skillsWed really love to talk to you if you haveExperience in school-based operations or facilitiesExperience working with third-party vendorsAbout usAt Higher Ground, we''re driven by a deep desire to bring about widespread change in education today.
