We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join the team at our site in Launceston in the afternoon shift.You will contribute to the success of Opal by:Use of trade skills to provide a quality and timely maintenance service.Actively participate in the development, promotion, implementation and compliance to all Companys Health Safety & Environment strategy and policiesPlaying a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices on the site using SAP.Provide technical support, problem solving and continuous improvement to support production and other maintenance and engineering initiatives.Participate in improvement plans across the commercial team around reporting improvements, standardisation across the region and budget/forecasting process enhancements.Daily task reporting and organisation of external contractors & servicesBe apart of projects for the factory; to implement upgrades to equipment/ machinery.Identification and communication of electrical equipment and parts to the procurement team.We can offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves. Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;Hold a current Electrical Practitioner Licence (TAS)Be a motivated, self-starter; with a professional attitudeOpals first and foremost value is safety, therefore a strong personal safety ethic is requiredThe ability to work on a rotating roster for Saturday coverageThe ability to work autonomously in environments with time constraintsUnderstanding of maintenance work planning and scheduling proceduresExperience and understanding of electrical systems to analyse, troubleshoot and solve problems which may include but not limited to:SCADA systemsAC and DC motorsSafety interlocks and controlsVariable speed drivesRead and understand electrical drawings.Pneumatics and Hydraulic systemsSkills/Knowledge in JSEA, Risk Assessments, Working Permits, LOTO.Applications are open to both internal and external candidates.
