Darwin (NT) CBD Based Group-wide broad commercial legal role Full-time or part-time position Great team culture Flexibility for work-life balance The Paspaley Pearls Group (PPG) is a family-owned company with origins dating back to 1953. Its core business is pearling, including pearl production, wholesale, and retail. The Group also has interests in marine engineering, commercial property, aviation, agriculture, hospitality, viticulture, and wine-making, with some businesses operating internationally. This newly created role is due to the Group''s growth. The successful candidate will join the in-house legal team, reporting to the General Counsel and collaborating with other legal team members. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected legal team in a dynamic environment, supporting PPGs diverse commercial activities. The role involves providing legal advice on transactional and regulatory matters across various disciplines, including: contract, corporate, consumer, property, competition, intellectual property, work health and safety, employment, and environmental law. It may also include supervising litigation, with considerations spanning Australian and international jurisdictions. Experience in these areas is highly regarded. The ideal candidate will have: 10+ years of practical PQE (experience from private practice, government, or in-house roles is acceptable) Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions in a complex regulatory environment Attention to detail, quality, and timeliness Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders across business units Up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements and compliance issues relevant to PPG In return, Paspaley offers a secure employment opportunity in Darwin, a supportive work environment fostering growth and work-life balance, and an attractive remuneration package based on experience.
