Employment TypeOngoing & Non-ongoing (for an initial period of up to 12 months)ClassificationAPS 6This role is advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate.Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, it would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of two years.A non-ongoing offer may convert to ongoing employment, but this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.Flexible WorkFlexible working arrangements will be considered.The OpportunitySenior Engagement Officers play a vital role in shaping, driving, and delivering outcomes within regions to support and enable the self-determination and aspirations of First Nations Peoples. You will work with Indigenous Australians to address place-based needs and priorities, maximizing the social and economic impact of policies and programs. The approaches will be targeted, measurable, evidence-based, and co-designed.As a successful candidate, you will:Engage with Indigenous communities to understand their needs and aspirations.Develop and implement strategies to support self-determination initiatives.Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.This position requires travel within and occasionally outside the region.
