Our mission is to improve the health of millions of people worldwideFull Time OpportunityBarangaroo, Sydney CBD (Relocation to Randwick in September, 2025)PermanentHybrid working environment (2 days per week in the office)We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive HR professional to join our Australian HR team.The Opportunity:TheHR Coordinatorplays a key role in supporting the Australian HR team by providing general HR advice to employees and students and managing daily administrative tasks. They are responsible for maintaining and improving HR administrative processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective. The role also involves identifying and resolving issues or escalating them when necessary. Additionally, the HR Coordinator contributes to both local and global HR projects and supports initiatives aligned with the organizations people strategy.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Support administrative aspects of the recruitment process and filling in for the Recruitment Coordinator during periods of leave or peak recruitmentPrepare contracts, variation letters, salary adjustments and agreements for various employment types ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policiesMaintain regular HR compliance checks, verify data accuracy across systems and review processes for ongoing relevance and efficiencyManage onboarding activities including documentation, HRIS data entry, buddy program coordination and new hire eventsFacilitate termination processes, ensure documentation is completed and conduct exit interviews when requiredProvide general HR guidance to employees and students escalating complex issues appropriatelySupport WHS initiatives, coordinate the WHS Committee and assist with safety and workers compensation tasksProvide support for payroll processing and related tasks as neededMaintain and update HR intranet content ensuring accuracy and relevantAssist with HR events and initiatives including remuneration reviews and performance cyclesGenerate and maintain accurate HR reports to support decision makingCollaborate on and lead improvements to HR administrative processesWork with international colleagues accommodating time zones to ensure effective communication and coordinationFor more information on this role, please see our detailed Position Description hereSkills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful CandidateTertiary qualifications in a HR or related degree, with an understanding of the Australian industrial legislative framework and application of modern awards or ability to develop understanding quicklyMinimum 1 year experience in a HR Assistant or Coordinator roleExcellent organisation and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work based on impactDemonstrated understanding of employment legislation landscapeDemonstrated excellence in customer service orientation, developed through experience in customer/client-facing rolesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff and students at all levels of the organisationProficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and OutlookHigh level of attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to review work to ensure accuracyProactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completionAptitude for managing sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentialityFlexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the positionFlexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the positionPlease visit our website for more on The George: Home | The George Institute for Global HealthThe closing date for applications is 13th June, 2025.
